Based on the agreement of License and Technical Cooperation between BAMTRI (Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute) and TWI (The Welding Institute), in April 2002, China FSW Center was founded as the unique organization authorized by TWI in China territory (including Hong Kong、Macao and Taiwan) for FSW technology reserach and to introduce and popularize the the FSW Technology, as well as to issue and supervise the sub-license of friction stir welding patent in China market . The foundation of China FSW Center declares the beginning of the cooperation between BAMTRI and TWI in FSW, which is also a milestone in the history of China welding.
